The following rates are a baseline according solely to word
count. Other aspects may result in higher prices including but not limited to:
- Popularity of genre
- Maturity of manuscript (what stage of progress the book is in)
- Complexity of content
- Familiarity with subject
- Time spent reading, researching, writing, fact-checking
· Editorial Assessment: <30,000 words $200, additional
$25/ 5,000 words
Copy Edit: <30,000 words $300, additional $50/
5,000 words
Proofread: <30,000 words $150, additional $20/
5,000 words
Developmental Edit: $400/30,000 words
*Criteria for Developmental Edits*
1. Manuscript must be completed and at least 30,000 words.
2. Manuscript must be properly formatted (properly indented,
margined, etc.)
